Research question:
Can interactive immersive sound art support thought, exercise and relaxation?

I am interested in the health effects of music, including the ways various sounds can support thought, exercise and relaxation.
The project under development focuses on how the human heart is affected by music derived from nature, particularly water. The musical chord progressions are also inspired by watery flows and rhythms.

This assignment brings to life an audio-visual archive of original nature scenes filmed around Britain and the World. It contains my own filmwork and audio recordings of rivers, streams, lakes, waterfalls and ocean waves. Visually, it integrates fractal effects and layerings blended for projection into built and virtual environments.

The research presented at this exhibition explores auditory innovations for mind and body. These integrate sonic effects attributed to pre-historic acoustics as well as recent studies of autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR).

Live sessions may include participation in a group sound-embodiment experiment.
